Knitting and Crochet Blog Week 2013 Day 3: Infographics. Errr....
Infographics sounds like a made up word to me, but I've decided that many words in these tech-savvy social media days sound made up to me. Ho hum.
Anyway, today's task is to include an infographic into the blogpost - a way to combine both text and graphics to convey information to the reader. Well, with a brief like that I should revert back to my science and engineering background to present some well-researched and peer-reviewed data about the state of my knitting.
Yeah, right.
Instead, you have this purely anecdotal piece of bad science, as observed by my husband as I approach a work-related deadline.

I love your infographic, had me giggling - I guess us knitters can all relate to your chart :)

I love your choice of infographic. It certainly shows the daily turmoil us crafters face when trying to lead normal balanced lives :)
Very true!
For me, I think that likelihood of checking Ravelry is even higher than likelihood of knitting because, when you can't see the laptop screen, it looks like work (especially when you put on a serious face, frown and sigh every so often)
I had similar misgivings about the word "infographic". Isn't that just a longer way of saying "chart", "graph" or "diagram"? I have a vision of a teacher reading a storybook aloud to her class and then pausing to turn the book around, "...and here's a picture!" I might make that phrase my next caption! ;-)
Great choice. Who needs to clean anyway? It isn't important, like ravelry!
Great infographic, I can really relate to that although I'd rather iron than the other household stuff. I think window cleaning is highly overrated. I decided to put mine in the favourite Colour post tomorrow. But one question here: how do you manage to include your infographic. I made mine on infogr.am too and wordpress doesn't seem to like it and therefor doesn't show it.
Great post! I read somewhere, "Behind every blogger, there is a hungry husband" -- or something of the like. I think us knitters could add, and an extremely messy house.
I love that - so brilliant - and true !
I daresay you have created a chart that all of the knitters can use. Love it!
When you click on the Share button in infogr.am, there are options for FB, Twitter, Google+ etc, then at the bottom there's some HTML code under the heading "embed". In the Blogger editor I just made sure I was in HTML mode, not Compose mode. I'm not familiar with WordPress, so don't know if you can edit in HTML.
I really like your infographic! So clever, and so true!
I love it! I can totally relate :)
I agree with your chart!! The ironing is the less important hore on my schedule.
Here's my attempt at infographic: http://mibruno.com/knittingdia3/
Love the info graphic. You missed out a few choice procrastination tasks though! Cleaning under the sofa, anyone?
