As well as just trying to get the planning for next half term sorted out (half done but not yet complete), one of the joys of October half-term is planning the Chritmas production. I've found a nice Sheila Wilson prodution (Rock the Baby) that has 16 named characters including narrators. Somehow I have to convert this so there are speaking parts for all 42 Year 2 pupils...
As well as that I need to work out how I can fit 76 children dressed as nativity characters, sheep, stars, etc into a performing space little larger than that taken up by a Mini Cooper...
Oh the joys of Infant teaching...

Being KS2 I don't have that problem till the Summer performance! Don't envy you at this time.... :)
Could be worse! Last year's performance was secular nd involved nine children being the Tinsel Tidying Teams and dressing a Christmas Tree on the stage in tinsel. These children's lines were very simple (often no more than a word or two) so you can imagine which children got these parts. They couldn't dress the tree without barging each other out of the way and I spent each performance convinced the tree and at least one tinsel tidier would disappear off the back of the staging blocks. I also thought I'd go for loads of Asda Value tinsel (economy rules), but it was so cheap and nasty it brought me out in a rash...
